No Daddy Weekend

Our no-daddy time started off with going to a Halloween party at Byerly's and then to Benihana to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. The kids love Benihana. This time they both got their own meals, and I made sure to order them extra shrimp because they just LOVE the shrimp (i.e. butter) there. Caroline was extra adventurous and tried Grandma's scallops... and loved them so much she ate nearly all of the scallops. More and more I see that Caroline will be a little seafood eater like me.

Saturday we went to the Children's Museum with Uncle Tony, August and Alfie. It was my first time there since they opened after the remodel and was super impressed with all there was to do.

After the museum we went home for naps, and then went to the YMCA's Halloween party in the evening. There wasn't TOO much to do, but we were able to stay and enjoy for some time.

Trying Nerds for the first time

When we got home, Caroline took some pictures with my phone:

Sunday morning the kids were playing nicely, so I snuck away to take a shower. By the time I finished, they had migrated into the bathroom:
We went to Grandma and Grandpa's for lunch, then left quickly because we had a birthday party to attend. Since the birthday party started at 2, I was hoping Caroline would get some rest in the car, and luckily for me, she did. So naturally, I drove home, got Bennett's Kindle, then sat in the car until it was time to go to the party:
The party was at the Little Gym and both kids had A BLAST. I was worried Caroline would be scared and not participate, and she was definitely clingy when we first got there. But once she saw our ECFE friends, she hesitantly went into the room with them, while I waited in the lobby with the parents. Soon after, she was playing too. They loved it.

I was fearful Bennett would slip, and his feet would stay caught in the rings. Luckily that didn't happen but I had visions of him in a cast.

Photo Catch-up

October 20th: Looking sassy before school, and one with the princess pose

 October 21: Edina Pumpkin Fest

Caroline tried some orange soda. Not so much a fan at first sip, but then a huge fan!

 Feeding her brother gelato:

 October 22: In New London

 October 24: Hopkins Kids Concert

October 25: Sick day for Caroline. I decided to make it a true sick day, and walk around MOA, for old time's sake (and also I could go shopping). Caroline took some Instagram worthy photos in the Zara dressing room:

Then we had lunch like normal, so that she could watch the roller coasters:
The best part of her day was definitely playing in the American Girls store. She prefers the baby dolls over the little girl dolls for sure.

Home for naps:
