Monday
We went to the Twins game on Monday night. Probably not the best parenting choice, since the game started at 7 and would obviously end well past bedtime, but we went for it anyway. The kids had a GREAT time. Caroline was her usual scared self at first, because of all the new people, but then we got some sugar in her, and she relaxed and played with the other kids. We made sure to pump them full of sugar, but for the longest time, they were so content sitting on chairs and watching the game with the other kids. Joel and I were actually able to socialize with people, which really felt like a big accomplishment. Every week that passes, it feels like we're able to give them a longer leash, and they're better about acting like civilized people in public. Caroline is still the more difficult one in social situations, but she isn't even three yet, so I have to remember that she's not where Bennett is developmentally. Here is Caroline enjoying a late night ice cream sundae:
We ended up leaving after 10pm, while the game was still going. We did manage a photo of the kids in the glove! Caroline's first while awake!
Tuesday
After dinner I took the kids and dogs for a walk:

I picked up the kids before nap, to take Caroline to the ENT. I was debating whether or not to take Bennett as well. Then I thought if we finished early, we could go to the Children's Museum, so I took both kids with. Caroline did a hearing test and she has normal hearing, which is great. The ENT said she should be checked again in December, and if she has 3+ ear infections before now and December, we should call him and discuss surgery again. Otherwise, we should be good to go.
We did finish the appointment early in the afternoon, but it was raining, so I was hesitant to go to the museum and really get stuck in rainy rush hour traffic. Instead, we got takeout for dinner and ice cream cones for the car ride home. Who knows why I thought eating ice cream cones in the car would be a good idea, because Caroline was a huge mess. Bennett actually did great, and kept yelling, "CAROLINE! You are dripping!" but she was a lost cause. They were both very happy about the treat though.
Then Caroline did some naked yoga as she was getting dressed for bed:

Singing with microphones:
Joel was in Duluth, so it was just me and the kids in the evening. Apparently Bennett was taking selfies again:
Then they had a bath. Bennett was impressing me with his hair wetting skills. Usually he's screaming when a drop of water gets on his face, so anything we can do to move him past that is amazing.
Saturday
Bennett woke me up Saturday morning and gave me a shoulder rub. It was great:
Then he took pictures:
We made a quick stop at Medicine Lake so that the kids could swim:
Then went to the mall to meet August and Alfie:
After naps, we went to church (!) for the first time in a long time, then went to Pinstripes for dinner. It was probably the most perfect evening. We sat outside on their patio. The kids were surprisingly well behaved, and it was a gorgeous night to be sitting outside. Then after dinner, we went for a walk around Centennial Lakes Park.
One of the photos Bennett took for us... it was the least blurry:
