Halloween

Today was Bennett's first Halloween. It took Mommy a while to figure out what he was going to be and on Monday, I had an epiphany: Paddington Bear.

Of course his first costume had to be original which meant it couldn't come in a package. We found a monkey suit and cut off the tail to make it look like a bear. Then found a coat, but it had six buttons and Paddington has zero buttons and two toggles. So off went the buttons and I made toggles from buttons, cording and felt. Luckily Daddy had a suitcase from his childhood memories (ie junk) and it worked perfectly. The hat was made from felt and was such a pain to make but turned out decent.  Daddy lovingly drove 25 minutes (each way) to get what seemed to be the only pair of toddler rain boots in the city. And as luck would have it, they were the perfect style. His costume was definitely a team effort and a success! Although he was much less thrilled about it than we were.

Our first stop at 5:30 was Betty Eide's house at the end of Sherwood Hills Circle.

Paddington received a marshmallow candy in the ghost bag and his first toy truck!

Betty was very happy to have a trick-or-treater this year, let alone, a first-timer! Not many trick or treaters venture to the street behind our house anymore. Our guess is that's because it's actually quite scary to wall back there in the dark!

Paddington Bear Happy with his first toy truck!

Our second stop was Joe and Jane's across the street from our house. Jane immediately guess that Paddington Bear had arrived to trick or treat! After joe and jane's we visited grandpa and grandma in Fridley.

Enjoying Nature

Bennett is also really good at pulling himself to standing, then sitting back down again. He has also been getting a little ballsy and letting go when he's standing. It's like he wants to stand on his own or walk away... Only he can't so that yet. So then he falls and sometimes gets busied up. (Notice the nice one on his forehead) My little baby is growing up!

The Stash

Nothing makes a pumping mom more excited than talking about her milk supply. I'd guess there's somewhere around 2300 oz in there and Bennett eats about 25 oz a day. Also the jars on the top shelf are good I've made for him. So this is pretty much Bennett's freezer.

Grandpa's Birthday

We went out to dinner to celebrate Grandpa's birthday.

Super B

Being a superhero is tough work. Good thing Super Bennett has two trusty sidekicks.

Baptism

Bennett's baptism was a week ago. Preparations were stressful but everything went well. My biggest concern, other than having the food prepared, was getting Bennett to nap. I knew that we'd be busy getting ready and if he didn't nap, we'd have issues... but being the wonderful kid he is, I was able to put him in the carrier and he fell asleep.  The ceremony was quick and went well. Bennett was content and did great while the pastor held him. During his turn in the limelight he figured out he was wearing suspenders, and provided a bit of comic relief during the ceremony. Afterwards, the dinner went well!

#5

#5 popped out today. His bottom left. That'd explain the low grade fever ad mild crabbiness these past few days.

Going for a Walk

Wednesday morning walk

Isla fused to cooperate but we got one pic anyway. Bennett is wearing a sleeper and his fleece bear costume and thick fleece blanket the burp cloth wrapped around his neck all snuggled.

Technology

For Bennett's 8 month birthday he Facetimed Grandpa for the first time. He didn't seem too impressed with technology though.
