New London Water Days

We went back to New London to enjoy the Water Day festivities. Our day started with a one-mile fun run. It was Bennett's first time running a mile, and his only motivation to keep going was to beat Beck. About halfway through, he started to get angry, like REALLY angry because he was tired, but every time he'd turn around, and see Beck behind him, then speed up.

Despite seeing each other only once a year, the boys quickly rekindled their friendship:

After the run, we watched the parade and then had lunch at the fire station. We were debating what to do, and ended up taking the kids to the little carnival. Bennett did the bounce houses while Caroline took a pony ride:

Then we went to Lake Florida for a swim and dinner bbq. I think it was their first time swimming in a lake, in depths where they couldn't touch the ground. Caroline was a little clingy but both loved it.

We ended our evening with a pontoon ride. It was a great day!

Photo Catch-up

Well, tragically, my phone died when we got to San Diego, so the only photos on my phone are of our trip. The kids stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's for four nights, and it seemed to go well.

Heading home from our first trip away from the kids:

 July 3rd

We decided to cheat the system and watch the Bloomington fireworks the day before July 4th. It worked out really well. The kids fell asleep in the car.... so we had to wake them up. They weren't TOO thrilled about it, but at least they got to see the fireworks.

July 4th we watched the Edina parade, our new annual tradition.

Then at home, Caroline decided to be a naked baby. Being naked is her new thing:

Bennett got to spend the weekend with Sequoia Bear. We needed to take Sequoia Bear around with us for the weekend, then write about what we did in the Sequoia Bear journal. The first thing Bennett wanted to do was take a picture with Sequoia Bear and Isla:

July 8th we went to Round Lake:

Caroline wanted to get in on the Sequoia Bear action:

Then we took Sequoia Bear to the Sculpture Garden for a quick photo op:

July 9th Bennett started off his day by taking selfies, then in the evening we went to eat at Jun:
