Sunday we went to the Twins Game. This was Caroline's first Twins game, and Bennett's 3rd, I believe. The game started at 1:10, and Caroline was super tired in the morning, but we were able to hold her off from napping until we left for the game around 11. She slept on the way to the stadium, and I put her in the carrier once we got there. Luckily for us, she continued sleeping while we waited in the Plaza for Kevin to arrive with a ticket.
Once in the stadium, the kids were pretty excited because there was so much to see. We were sitting the Legends Club, so there was a lot of space for the kids to walk around, plus the stadium was pretty empty. We weren't able to buy tickets together, but ended up sitting together due to all the open seats. We ended up seeing three home runs, one being a grand slam, so there was a lot of cheering and fireworks. Bennett was in a great mood and was anxious to run the bases after the game.
Mandatory ice cream sundae hat. They were huge and Bennett managed to eat nearly his entire sundae.
The game was loooonnnggg. Then it went into extra innings. The game ended up finishing around 6:15, much later than expected. The kids did great during the game, but it was during the extra innings that both started unraveling. Bennett was set on running the bases, so there was no way we could leave either. When it finally came time to run, Bennett got a massive bloody nose, and we were without our diaper bag, because Kevin had taken it with him. We got some wipes from a mom, but it was a terrible bloody nose that kept starting and stopping. It started up right as we were by the Twins dugout. One of the people working had to go into the dugout to find us a rag to use.... he folded it and said, "well, this side seems clean." So gross but now we have a plain white rag that probably some Twins player used. Both kids had fun. Bennett did a great job. Caroline was scared, so I carried her as I walked the bases. Then at each base, I stopped and made her touch the base with her hand. Finally at 3rd base, I told her to run with me and she willingly got down, held my hand and ran to home plate.
