Well it is pretty safe to say I won the first word battle. Again today when I picked him up from daycare, as he sat on my knee when I was putting on his sweatshirt, he looked me in the eye and said, "mama." Unlike his babbling, which is usually like, "Ma Ma Ma maaaaa Ma mamamamamaaaa" when he says mama it is just that and he is always making eye contact with me. I've been telling Joel, of course, but he didn't believe me. Then tonight we went to the gym and when we picked him up from the child care Joel took him. He wanted to be held by me though and once I was holding him he looked at me and said, "mama." Joel heard it too and agreed that it is his first word!
