New Brighton Fair

We went to the New Brighton Fair and watched a police horse demo. Part of the demonstration was having a police officer pretend to attack the horse, to show how well the horses are trained. During the first demonstration, the horse got spooked, bucked the riding officer off and onto the ground. The demo clearly didn't go as planned. Then they tried again with a different horse. A police officer attacked the horse again, and this time things went as planned. During all of this, Bennett is getting more and more traumatized, and by the time they were starting the 3rd attack, he was about ready to cry and kept saying, "Go home now. Go home now." I tried to explain that they were just practicing, that the police officer attacking the horse was just pretending. No one was hurt, etc. He kept nodding like he understood, but I don't think he did, and we left shortly after that. Poor kid! But good to know he's so sensitive to other's feelings! This picture was taken before the demos started.
