Our day started off with Bennett pretending to be the caution sign:
Then we jumped in the car and headed north for Joggins Fossil Cliffs, about two hours from Halifax. We arrived a few hours before high tide and took a short tour along the cliffs to look at the fossils. There wasn’t TOO much to see as the fossils were mostly coal, fish poop and centipede footprints, but I guess they are still fossils. We had lunch at the visitor center and were able to see how much the water had risen in the short time we were there.

Then we went to the Fundy Geological Museum in Parrsboro. Our van arrived first, and there were a total of 12 if us, but somehow they only charged us $22.75, the rate of one Family. Probably for the best because the museum was just a big room, with little to interest the kids. But they did have dinosaurs to paint and minerals to put on a card, so the kids did a little crafting:
Then we had a little snack at the Tim Hortons in Parrsboro, and played at the little garden across the street:
Then we drove to the Five Islands area. Our van stopped at the lighthouse and it was probably the best part of our day. The temperature was perfect, no people were around, so the kids could run and be loud. We also climbed to the top of the lighthouse. Joel and Bennett are both scared of heights, it should be noted.
Then we had dinner at Granny’s restaurant.
