Nova Scotia Day #5

Day 5 was our trip to Lunenberg and Peggy's Cove. We stopped at the Lunenberg farmers market first, where there were some bakery vendors. I bought Caroline a loaf of brioche, her favorite bread. I handed the bag to her, and she hugged it. Then she gazed down adoringly at the loaf and gave it a little lick. Watching her, I don't know if I'd ever seen her love something as much as she did that bread.

After the farmers market we went to the Fisheries Museum. It was okay. There were tanks with local fish and shellfish. There was a lot of maritime memorabilia. It was super hot this day, and the museum wasn't air conditioned, so the kids were only partially invested.

Then we stopped for lunch at the Grand Banker Bar & Grill. Caroline claimed she was not hungry at all, not one bit. By this time, she had eaten 1/4th of the brioche. We ordered her a small meal anyway, and true to word, she didn't have a bite. However, once we got back to the car, she ate another quarter of the brioche. I asked if she was just waiting to eat the brioche and she smiled and said yes. She loves her bread.

On our way to Peggy's Cove we stopped at Blue Rocks. It was a chance for the kids to stretch their legs and dip their toes in the water. They loved it and didn't want to leave.

 Peggy's Cove:

The kids each got a puffin snuggly. The morning or two prior, Caroline woke up asking, "What are those birds we were talking about? They fly. They're cute.... muffins? I think they are called?" "PUFFINS," we told her, "Not muffins! Muffins cannot fly!"

We stopped at a brewery when we made it back to Halifax. The kids were very excited for the bowls of free popcorn.
Caroline asked to smell the beer and was not a fan. She had also woke me up in the night before, because she was having some active dreams. One time, she said, "I do not like that!" and another time, her face scrunched up and she folded her arms, totally mad. She was clearly asleep. Anyway, I told her the story, which she though was hilarious, and asked her to reenact it.
