Thursday
Lice outbreak at daycare. Being a high strung, overly concerned parent, when we received an email at 10 am that lice had spread to all the rooms at daycare, I just had to leave work to rescue my babies. I must've seemed pretty panicked because the next day, the teacher asked Joel if I was okay. We were home by 11 and the kids stripped in the garage. We went straight up to the bathroom for baths. They actually had a lot of fun splashing one another, even though both were hungry for lunch. It was pretty cute that one would be the splasher, and the splashee would need to wipe their eyes, then the reverse would happen. No lice was found, so I was pretty pleased. No shaved heads or horrible lice treatment for either of these two!

Bennett napped in our bed, because why not? Lice day is a special day!

After naps, Bennett was playing with the paper from a skein of yarn and wearing it for a hat. Naturally, as soon as Caroline could get her hands on it, she wanted to wear it too. Monkey see, monkey do! It was actually quite nice to spend the day with them again, just like old maternity leave times.

Friday
We had our first date night since Caroline was born, more or less. I think we've had random hours away from the kids here and there, and then for Joel's holiday party last year, we had some time to ourselves, but this was the first dinner out in a loooonnnnggg time. It was wonderful!

Saturday
We went to a birthday party and took some Christmas card photos. Not definitive decision if they'll be used, since some look like this:

Sunday
We spent a lot of time at Grandma and Grandpa's. Bennett asked to go to Costco, which we did. Why did he want to go? To buy his baby a toy. What kind of toy did he think Caroline needed? A truck, because every time he plays with his, she always takes it away. When we got home, it was dark and Joel had set up Christmas light while we were away. As we were driving up the driveway, Bennett smacked his head with his left hand and goes, "OH MY GOODNESS!" It was too cute, the kind of reaction I wish I could've captured on video.

Monday

Tuesday
Another rainy day inside for the kids. We had a conference for Caroline and she is doing well. We've been getting updates of her taking two hour naps and were finally able to ask about it. Apparently she only sleeps about 45 minutes in her cot, and then needs to be held for the remainder of the nap. She loves to read and seems to have a love of music like her brother.
