Well, as it is for the second child, we totally forgot to acknowledge Caroline's 9 month birthday. We didn't even remember late in the day, it totally slipped our minds. It wasn't until right before bedtime on the 17th that we remembered, and felt horrible. At the very least, I like to take SOME pictures of Caroline on her actual birthday, plus, I like to take a few moments to reflect on her last month of life... but this time, I did zero of that on her birthday. Anyways...
Caroline has been doing some amazing things these past month. She pulls herself up to standing, with ease, and can stand sturdily with only one hand holding onto something. She likes to hold onto hands and walk, or will walk behind a push toy. She doesn't scale furniture yet, so I'm hoping she won't take her first step for a few more months, but who knows! She is quick to crawl around and will make a beeline to whoever she wants to hold her. She'll crawl over, grab onto your leg to stand, and then start whining. Of course we can't say no to her sweet little face, and thus we reinforce her behavior and have a spoiled little girl in the making.
She likes to crawl over to Bennett whenever he is playing with anything and try to take it from him. Bennett is pretty good about yelling, "NO BABY!" and snatching his toy back as he walks away. But there's no hitting, just taking away and leaving. Sometimes I ask him to give her a toy, because he's her big brother and should be kind, and he will.
Caroline has gone from throwing up when eating any solids at home, to eating bits of solid with ease. Without a doubt, her favorite food is puffs. She can eat a handful in a sitting, and is always looking for more. She still loves DQ ice cream, and it is probably the only thing we can spoon feed her. Otherwise, she is always willing to try
