State Fair

In the years Joel and I have been together we've only been to the fair a couple of times. Not because I don't want to go, but HE wants nothing to do with it. Then Bennett comes along and suddenly the idea of taking a 6 month old to a loud, noisy stimulating environment, on a super hot, steamy day, seems great. Not one to turn down a chance to go to the fair, we went and it was fantastic!

His favorite food (and the only thing he tasted) was frozen apple cider. He loved it:

We spent a lot if time checking out the misters, which he also loved. Every time he'd go in one he'd start smiling and kicking his legs. We stopped at 7 or 8 of them.

We visited the information booth and Bennett got a state fair pin. The lady handing at the booth saw Bennett and said, "I'll take him," so Joel handed him over and she played with him for a while. She also told us she was once a school teacher and the smartest kid she ever had was named Bennett. Here's hoping!

Bennett also did a little bit of standing. Who knew he could do that?!

We arrived at the fair around 4:30 and he was sleeping around 7:15. I'd say his first  fair experience was a success.
