Italy Day 5 Cont.

Joel and in napped until 5:30 and woke Bennett up at 6 so that we could eat and explore Monterosso. On our way out we saw our laundry blowing in the wind.

We made our way down the 138 steps from the hotel and walked around surveying restaurant menus, trying to decide where to eat.

We went to the harbor to see the view. Bennett loved watching the boats.

We finally settled on a dinner and both had mixed seafood. Mine was of grilled squid, prawns and two types of fish. Joel had fried anchovies (a speciality in this area), shrimo and squid. It was good as even Bennett enjoyed the fish AND anchovies.

Despite Bennett's long nap he was getting tired and antsy so we kept him busy.

Then I took Bennett to the playground while Joel got the bill.

We went back to the harbor to take a family picture.

Monterosso is the most northern Cinque Terre town and we could see the other towns behind us but that didn't come through in the picture.

We're in the old part of town so we tried to take a picture with the new town behind us.

But then Bennett was so overcome with emotions with the beauty of situation his amore took over.

That was lovely. Then we went for gelato. We both got amerano, cherry flavor, and then Joel got chocolate and I got biscotti.  It was all very delicious.

Tomorrow we're going to visit some of the other towns. Hopefully it won't be too hot and sunny! We're just baking every day! Bennett has his own crib tonight and after 6 days of sleeping with us, we'll see how it goes.
